Edward Shackleton

Ed joined Tom Stuart-Smith in 2015 having previously worked for landscape designers in the US and London.

He is a Chartered Landscape Architect (CMLI) and graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in English Literature and History of Art. He spent four years as an Associate at TSS before being appointed a Director in May 2022.

Ed has specialist plant knowledge and leads the co-ordination of plant procurement within the practise. He has a good understanding of European and UK nursery trade, travelling regularly each year, in order to be able to source and select the best plant material available.

He has acted or is acting as Project Landscape Architect for a large range of projects including Aldourie Castle on the shores of Loch Ness, Maggies Cambridge, the moat garden at Windsor Castle in the UK, Six Senses hotel in Rome; as well as currently managing projects in the US, Morocco, Ireland and France.
